Unit 2: Speaking Accurately

Hi everyone, welcome back to this blog. So we already covered about Unit 1 which is Speaking about Myself. So in Unit 2 we will learn how to speak accurately which is focused on pronunciation. We who speak English as our second language might face some difficulties since English is totally different compared to our first language. Our pronunciation often sounds alike to our first language which is Bahasa Malaysia. In English, different spellings have different sounds. In this topic students will learn about Homophones, Silent Letter and Word Stress. By learning this topics, students will identify:

• the correct pronunciation of some commonly mispronounced English vowel sounds in words
• practise prononcing words accurately
• letters of the English alphabet have different pronunciations in different words
• pronounce words with silent letters correctly
• aware of different English word stress
